How can I fix bent or frayed bristles?Updated 24 days ago
Luckily, this is usually an easy fix! Run the brush bristles under very hot water, ensuring the hot water hits the bent area. After about 15 seconds, you can mold the bristles straight again. As you use the brush, it will also help reshape it!
If the fraying is severe enough that hot water alone does not solve the issue, the bristles can be reshaped using the following method:
- Run clear gel (such LUXA Shine or Gloss top coats) over the bristles in the direction they should lay
- Wipe any excess
- Store the brushes capped and out of sunlight, in a cool, dark place such as a drawer.
Lastly, we never recommend using acetone on the brushes, as these can dry out the brush heads and cause them to fray further.
